All Because of a Book

The killings in Paris are undeniably horrible. There’s no other way to dissect it. Why did they happen? Why did the people that committed such horrific acts feel the compelling need to eradicate human life?

Put simply, a book told them to do it. Some sacred parchment, scribed centuries ago.

People took meaning from the book, followed the teachings that the book imparted.

Don’t get me wrong, I highly doubt that this book told its readers to kill innocent people. But some have a strange way of interpreting words in a book.

The modern world needs a reboot. We need the proverbial CTRL + ALT + DEL to get rid of these small minded people, blindly following some text because their religion dictates it to be so.

Let’s wipe out religion altogether. Find your own higher power to cling to, and don’t call it God.

And if the sheep choose to blindly follow the teachings of a book, why not a cool one, like anything by Charles Bukowski or perhaps The Catcher in the Rye? This is where humanity has taken a wrong turn.
